The new enterprise for the production of LNG cylinders of composite materials UNG ECONN JV LLC has been put into operation on the days of celebration of the 27th anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan.
The founders of the joint venture with equal shares acted Neftegazinvest LLC, Uzbekneftegaz JSC affiliate, and Hyundai International Co Ltd, Republic of Korea.
The cost of the project amounted to a total of 5.3 million USD, including construction and installation costs - 2.2 million USD and equipment cost - 3.05 million USD.
At the first stage, 60 thousand cylinders ECONN 20 are planned to be produced a year. At the second stage, this indicator should grow at least twice.
The joint venture is located on the territory of the Angren FEZ in Tashkent region and occupies 3 hectares of the area.
The envisaged level of localization of production will amount to 77%, in the payback period of the project - 2 years.
The launch of domestic production of composite LNG cylinders is a response to the market demand. LNG cylinders are necessary, both for provision of household needs of the population of Uzbekistan, and for further development of the country’s export potential.
As analysts confirm, the CIS market demand for this product is more than 30 million pieces. At the same time, up to 60% of the cylinders currently in service are obsolete.
Composite cylinders ECONN 20 is a modern high-tech product with a new level of safety due to integrated protection systems. They were developed taking into account the problem zones of this type of products in order to minimize the ‘human factor problems.’
ECONN 20 is designed for a wide range of use - gas stoves, gas burners for cooking, gas heaters, barbeque, and forced air heaters. In addition, specialists successfully use them as a power source for a gas burner in roofing works.
UNG ECONN JV LLC set up the production of cylinders with a volume of 50 liters (20 kg) and the working temperature range is from minus 40 to plus 80 degrees Celsius.
The service life of ECONN 20 is at least 10 years.
Composite cylinders are 60% lighter than metal ones and, naturally, are not corroded and environmentally friendly.
This type of cylinders, unlike metal cylinders, do not need the supply of safety valves, as they, first, have a 10-fold safety coefficient (for metal cylinders this coefficient is 3-5) and secondly, due to the properties of composite materials and its unique design, they are explosion-proof and non-shattering.
