Within the preparations for the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France (this October 8-9), Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC held negotiations October 7 with Jean Burrus, Chairman and CEO of Beicip-Franlab Company.
The sides discussed the issues on further cooperation areas.
Within the framework of cooperation, the issue of scientific support for geological exploration and studying the oil and gas potential of investment blocks is being considered with the possible involvement of the French side as an independent auditor and expert in a number of areas. Those include the evaluation of proposals of leading oil and gas companies for exploration and increase in hydrocarbon production in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the preparation of proposals for field development projects in Uzbekistan.
Other significant areas of joint activity include the assessment of the prospects for the work of Uzbekneftegaz JSC in exploration and production of hydrocarbons abroad; preparation of reports on reserves in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as a package of information on investment blocks of the republic to provide them to potential foreign investors for study, etc.
Collaboration issues are under consideration with Beicip Franlab in the creation of the National Oil and Gas Database (NDB), where the company intends to participate as an independent contractor for the provision of database development and training services, as well as a consultant for the commercialization of this project.
NDB is a data bank that seeks to preserve and promote data on the country’s natural resources, in particular, data related to oil exploration and production. The two main reasons why a country creates NDB are to store exploration and production data and promote investment attraction in the country by using data to reduce the risks associated with exploration, production and transportation.
